This has gotta be the best animation of cellular metabolism that I've ever seen. It was apparently made for the benefit of Harvard biology students using extremely accurate data of what the processes do actually look like.
My advice is to start with this three minute animation and just sit back and appreciate the beauty. Then, if you want to know what the hell is going on, try this longer, narrated clip of the action (it's any of the boxes labelled "inner life: view the animation).
I'm still stunned. It really is amazing.
